The Different Types of Geography Physical Geography This geography studies the characteristics of the physical environment Regional Geography This geography usually begins regional studies with a description of the local physical environment–the climate, landforms, soils, and other physical attributes-and then proceed with an inventory much like Varen’s, weaving these factors together as they interrelate. Topical Geography It is the basic approach taken for the centrate on topics as diverse as the geography of soils (pedology), of life forms (biogeography), of politics (political geography), of economic activities (economic geography), and of cities (urban geography).
